Thoughts, musings and random ramblings on Folk and Traditional music, literature and entirely unrelated subjects.

A beginning...
Well, this is a new departure for me. I was mildly concerned that I wasn't doing enough writing and that it would be good to get some stuff out where people could see it. Whilst it's a little embryonic yet, I hope to post a few things here when I get the chance.
This is an occasional space for the frustrated outpourings of a gigging musician, teacher and writer. Here you will find my entirely biased opinions on the things I'm really into, or... er... really not into.
My working life has seen me scraping a pittance in a comic store, assessing insurance claims, testing, designing and producing videogames and teaching.
Alongside all of these things I've taken an increasingly less casual interest in traditional music. For the past couple of years I was editor of Stirrings, Sheffield's Folk and Traditional music magazine.
I've written for various publications on a variety of subjects and currently perform with groups including Crucible, Hekety, Glorystrokes and Grinders' Misfortune Society as well as occasional solo work.
